Having requested currency exchange through Tesco online I received email from Travelex informing me that the money can be collected from Woodfod Green branch. I went to collect it and the staff member wanted the order number. Somehow I had completely deleted the email from my phone. I called the number for Travelex and they were really helpful and provided me with the order number. The next day I took my order number, my credit card used for the exchange, my driving licence and my passport. Upon giving the order number the staff member Rita gained access to my order. She now insisted on examining my phone for the relevant email. I explained I didnt have the email and somehow had managed to completely erase it from my phone. I explained I had all the other documents mentioned above to prove I was the rightful customer but she insisted she needed to see the email. I requested to speak to the manager and Mahbub came to the speak to me and without asking him me anything said that the email was required. I asked to speak to the manager but they said he was in a meeting. I rang the head office and spoke to customer services manager Neil Robertson who after being updated with my predicament said was an internal branch problem and it was them to resolve. Whilst I was on the phone the manager Christian Pratt appeared. I took my time explaining what the situation and that I had all the proofs required to show I had ordered and paid for the money exchange. Do you think that made a difference? Finally after repeating everything again and again it didn't make an iota of difference. Finally I suggested that he contact Travelex and he was extremely helpful and did so. They asked me a couple of security questions and authorised them to release the money. Now despite asking to bring Id they didn't even check it but looked at credit card used and released the money. I really cannot understand a manager of super store doesn't have the capability to make a reasonable decision that all is okay and the rightful person is collecting his order. The sum involved was a petty £102.15.
